APA names ArkTimes.com “Best Web Design”
It’s a huge accomplishment to be recognized among peers as “the best.” The Arkansas Press Association (APA) honored one of our clients, the Arkansas Times, with a First Place award for “Best Web Design” in its annual journalism contest. Softwyre designed ArkTimes.com in 2007.
Arkansas Times – a weekly newspaper with a small production staff – competed voluntarily in the top category against large daily publications. This First Place distinction for the Arkansas Times Web site trumps the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (second place), and the Northwest Arkansas Times (third place).
In addition to the First Place award for Best Web Design, Arkansas Times earned several other awards including First Place for coverage of education; First Place for special issue; First Place for freelance writing; and Third Place for editorial cartoonist.
The contest was judged by a neutral panel of members from the Alabama Press Association. Winners were announced July 12, 2008. Go here for the complete list of contest winners.
