So, what can it do? Here's a quick snapshot.

Newswyre is best suited for Web sites that involve communities. This includes newspapers, small magazines, churches and political campaigns.

  1. Editorial Control. Newswyre uses Authors, Editors and Senior Editors to allow you to maintain control of content and the publishing process.

  2. Sections and Categories. Your Web site is organized into sections and categories. You can create as many sections and categories of your Web site that you desire.

  3. Articles and News. You can create as many articles, news releases, editorials, commentaries and other types of content that are needed. You control where they are published and when they are published. You control their style and what graphics are included.

  4. Calendar of Events. Create as many events as you want. Simply include a start date and an end date, the title of the event and any other information you like. The event will appear if you choose on your homepage or any location on the Web site you have chosen.

  5. Lists. This could be a list of staff, other Web sites, restaurants, affiliations, you name it.

  6. Weblogs. Weblogs are online journals. They are extremely popular and powerful vehicles for grass roots efforts as well as keeping people coming back to your Web site.

  7. Email Subscriptions. A Web site is passive. Email is proactive. Keep your readers involved by broadcasting content they have asked to receive. You can have an unlimited number of subscribers to as many email lists as you want. Its easy to set up. You choose the content from your website you want to send, or create something new, the advertisement that you want to send, them simply send it out. Once sent, you can see how many people received it and how many people actually opened the email. We track it for you.

  8. Document Library. Your document library includes PDF, Office documents, audio and video files. You simply tell Newswyre how to organize the files and it will serve them to your audience.

  9. Search Tools. Every good content management tool has a good search tool. Your users can search on all of your content and return it based on relevance.

Ok, it has what I need, but how does it affect my bottom line?

Few companies can afford to hire a full time Web developer. Thus you have to rely on contracting with a Web development company. They charge you for every little change and it takes time. You don't have time to wait on someone else. Newswyre enables you to control your content without hiring programmers!

For those publishers that are advertising based:

  1. Create Ad Banner Campaigns. These can be any size banner you want, anywhere on the site you want. You can set them to appear only for certain dates or a maximum number of impressions. You can set them for a maximum number of click-throughs and you can limit to where they appear on the website. Also, you can give one ad more priority over another in how many times it appears. Newswyre will track and report to you how many times it has been shown and how many people actually clicked on it.

  2. Text Based Ads. Want to be able to show simpler ads than a full banner? Maybe a short list of realtors? These are paid ads you can place anywhere on the site to put focus on a specific set of advertisers. They like it and it impacts your bottom line.

  3. In Story Ads. In story ads are a new trend that most news sites incorporate. They are similar to banner ads, but they actually appear in the content of the article itself. Since most people are reading articles on your Web site, not looking at banners, in story ads traditionally get seen more times than banner ads do.

For those organizations that are subscription or transaction focused:

  1. Password Protected Content. You can limit some or all of your content to password protected areas of your Web site. The only individuals allowed to view this content are approved subscribers.

  2. Paid Subscriptions. If member only areas require purchasing a subscription, the site will automatically process credit card subscriptions for you and authenticate them. The user maintains their own ID and Password, not you. If members forget their password, they can recover it with their email.

  3. Selling Content. You can flag any of your articles or documents to be purchased. You set the price. The buyer then reviews short descriptions of the content they want, adds them to a shopping cart, uses their credit card to purchase, then downloads their content. The only thing you had to do was set a price.

For those organizations that take donations:

  1. Collect Donations. If your organization is supported by donations, Newswyre can process those donations on a per event basis or take general donations. You simply tell Newswyre how you want them collected. Our processing fees are based on level of transaction but are generally less than 4%.
